Nanotubes have enough space to place molecules inside of them, but also, are small enough to pass through the cellular membrane and deliver its content to the inner part of the cell, where it will mend the disease and cure it “easier”. Nevertheless, the investigations performed have not given results about what would be the long term effects of carbon nanotubes inside the body. The only choice we have is the application of the Precautionary Principle which is “to limit the exposition to carbon nanotubes until further investigations give us more information about its effects on human health”.
