Come and spend Wednesday afternoons creating beautiful mosaics

polishing techniques that make this art form so unique. Safety is a
priority; therefore, we make sure to use goggles, aprons, and rubber
gloves. Students have created many fun projects in the past such as
coasters, vases, trivets, decorative wall plaques, candle holders, and
flower pots. No experience necessary!
The Science Olympiads is a competitive team activity for students in
grades 6 th – 8 th to learn skills covering 23 science and engineering-
related topics, such as Disease Detectives, Fossils, and some Engineer

Team tryouts will be held in September and team selection will be
decided by early October.
All students interested in trying out will be expected to:
1. Attend two days of event demonstrations held after school
(students with conflicts can make arrangements with the Science
Olympiad coordinator to acquire necessary prep materials).
Dates will be announced in August.

Science Teacher, prior to the event demonstrations.
Wednesday afternoons after school are tentatively scheduled as the
meeting day. Some morning before-school practices will also be
scheduled to accommodate students’ schedules. There will be a
couple of Saturdays in the fall that students will need to be present.
Parents of team members will be expected to actively participate as
coaches and assistants.
