Chapter Two
needed. Again, they asked her name and again, her mind came
up blank.
“Does the name ‘Sara’ ring a bell?” Travis asked.
She shook her head. Reaching into his coat pocket, Travis
pulled out a gold bracelet with the word SARA engraved on it.
“Do you recognize this?” He asked.
“No.” She replied, looking at the band in a confused daze.
“You were wearing it when you were found.”
She shrugged. She could not recall any of it.
“Can you remember what happened to you?” The Doctor asked.
She shook her head again trying not to go into a panic. Who
was she? Where did she come from? What was she doing in the
river? There were no answers to these very important questions.
By midmorning she was in pain again, frustrated over tests and
questions that she could not answer. She just wanted to burst
into tears. She was lost, literally and figuratively.
“It seems…” Dr. Singh began, “you have a case of retrograde
amnesia, which is what I was worried about.”
“What does that mean?… I won’t remember anything?” She
asked.
“Well with these things you never know, your memory may
come back or it may not. Right you are still recovering from the
