come back.” He said. “For now, you can help it along by
resting and trying not to stress much.” Yes that was possible,
she thought sarcastically. She had no idea who she was and was
just told not stress about it.
The Doctor left her with more qu estions than answers. With the
assistance of the iv she managed to get some rest. She woke up
in the evening, and with the help of the nurse, she got cleaned
up, put into a fresh hospital gown, followed by dinner - some
tasteless drivel. She had no idea what she was eating but she
ate, knowing she needed to build up her strength.
She picked up the bracelet with her good hand, sounding the
name out. It seemed to roll off of her tongue easily enough, but
it sparked no emotion or memories. However, she thought it was
better than being called Jane Doe, she shuddered at that, so she
asked to nurses to call her Sara. They smiled, sadly but agreed.
As she was lying on the bed trying to follow Doctor’s orders, the
door opened and he walked in. A tall man, dressed in a jeans
and a plain blue shirt. He had a round face that seemed
familiar, but she was not sure if she knew him or not.
“Hi…you’re awake! How are you feeling?” He asked kindly.
“Better, I guess…” He walked over to her and took a seat next
to her bed. He moved with a surety that said he did this before.
“Do… do I know you?” She asked him.
