Chapter Two
seconds later he was holding up a straw to her lips. Grateful,
she took a couple of sips. The water brought relief to her throat,
but drinking it was a task as it sent more pain through her head,
if that was even possible.
“Than…yo…” She mouthed. As she lay back, before he could
even answer she felt the presence of other people in the room.
She saw a white coat, signaling the arrival of a doctor. She
closed her eyes. She felt exhausted. “She just woke up again,
and asked for water.” The voice said.
“Hello?” Said a second voice, “Ms.? Are you awake?”
“Hmm” She responded. ‘It hurts.” She whispered.
“I know…we’ll give you something for the pain okay.” said the
other voice.
“Can you tell us your name?” He asked.
She opened her mouth to respond, but for some reason her mind
could not recall that information. That was odd… she knew
that everyone had a name… why couldn’t she remember hers?
In the pit of her stomach a feeling of dread started. She heard
the beeping getting faster.
“Okay Okay... Relax… it’s alright… you’re still groggy from all
the medication. Just relax… we’ll talk later okay.” The
Doctor’s voice said, kindly.
