Throughout my IB journey , I ’ ve made a conscious effort to challenge myself and experiment , embracing the versatility and spontaneity of mixed media . I have found a particular love for textiles and have discovered exciting ways to integrate them into my oil paintings . These two vastly different areas of art , each rooted in distinct artistic traditions , allowed me to approach my pieces with a certain openness and kept my creative process engaging and constantly evolving as I never really knew what I was going to do next . With guidance and encouragement I was able to expand my technical skills and gain valuable knowledge on exciting new techniques .
A key part of my work has been my gravitation toward vibrant , dynamic compositions , and the interplay of contrasting materials and colours . My goal has always been to create pieces that are visually striking and texturally exciting . By embracing spontaneity , I ’ ve been able to produce work that feels authentic to me .
The Art room has been a calm space where I found I could step away from the intensity of the IB and focus on creativity . A big part of that came from the atmosphere of our class . There was a constant exchange of ideas , conversations , and the chance to see everyone ’ s work evolve . Being in that environment kept me motivated and made the process feel less like a graded requirement and much more enjoyable .
Looking back , this experience has reinforced my interest in experimenting with different materials and techniques . I ’ ve learned how to push boundaries with my ideas and take creative risks . I am excited to keep exploring new ways to develop my work and will remember my days in the Art room with great fondness .
