Atlantis or Venice
Greta Thunberg and many others can refresh your memory
about the climate crises we are facing, the statistics and all
the changes we need to make.
How do we make people engage with this global issue?
How can we make people change their habits? Today social
media is taking an ever more important role in spreading
messages and raising money. It is becoming the platform
where ideas and movements are created. Images are
negotiating these movements.
We don’t read but we scroll. There is a vast proliferation of
images from selfi es to landscapes, which all blend into ad
campaigns and propaganda. In creating these two pictures
I am looking at our Instagram culture. By adding doodles
onto these landscapes I am almost copying the latest
trend of Instagram fi lters and commenting on how we see
through our phones.
