to create a one of a kind international service event where members bond through service while creating unity and making lifelong everlasting friendships to make an impact, one service project and one community at a time.
I am excited that my fourth LSSP is taking place in Nashville! I have built houses at the Virginia Beach LSSP, cooked and cleaned for the Ronald McDonald House in the New Orleans LSSP, and help to build playgrounds in the Vancouver LSSP. The most exciting LSSP will take place in Nashville - YOU are invited! Hope to see you there!!

SECRETARY
Greetings Everyone! My name is Morgan Elthea Fierro, and I am honored and ecstatic to be this year’s Large Scale Service Project (LSSP) Ad-hoc Committee Chair. I am 5th year Psychology student at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in the Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District. As a psychology major, my aspiration is to work in the research department since I love to study people and their interactions with others. One of my favorite service projects is volunteering at the Milwaukee library to help out at events for kids around the community. The service project involves reading to kids, helping out at each station, and making sure the kids are safe. Besides my school work and volunteering (of course!), I like to read, practice music, and draw. I would have to say my favorite book is all of the Harry Potter Series, specifically Harry Potter: The Order of the Phoenix. As for music, I play the piano, guitar, a little bass, and I am learning the ukulele. My biggest passion in music is singing however. Art is another one of my hobbies, I draw still-life, realistic, and people. I have a lot of quirks about myself as well. If you know me, you know my obsession with Harry Potter and music. And if you REALLY know me, you would know that I like elbows; elbows are weird yet cool at the same time. Other than all of that, I am a super friendly person, so all of you can be my friend!
LSSP has been my favorite event in Circle K since I attended LSSP in Virginia Beach. After attending my first LSSP, I applied to be a part of the LSSP committee as a team leader and publicity and internal marketing sub-committee member. This past year, I was happy to become appointed as the LSSP committee secretary. A lot of people think secretary as the person who sits back and just take notes. In this past year, I made the secretary position my own. Along with writing up the minutes of each meeting, I also collected and put together all of the sub-committee minutes, created a team leader packet, worked along side with the chair with whatever they needed, created cute headers and documents for the committee, and help sub-committees when they needed me. I loved working on LSSP whenever I had the chance. It was great to spend time with members across International to plan an amazing event that brings everyone together to do something we love the most, service. LSSP illustrates the main reason why most of us (if not all of us) joined Circle K, completing service with people who hold the same passion for helping the world and community. This past year, I learned a lot as secretary, which I know will help me this year as the chair of the LSSP committee.
As the LSSP committee met up the past couple weeks, we (the committee) have worked on goals, directives, and visions. We hope to promote this event like crazy this year, using many different publicity materials to send to International and each district. As we think of service and fellowship, our plan is to make projects and activities accessible for anyone to participate in. We do not want to leave anyone behind and hope to make everyone as integrated as possible. We are also trying to reach out to the Kiwanis family to possibly attend our event in Nashville. With service being a big priority, we want to have enough service projects for all attendees to participate in. We also want to incorporate each service partner and preferred charity at LSSP this year; it is important to us to support Circle K’s partners and charities at this event. The LSSP committee goal is to have 200 attendees at LSSP Nashville 2014. With all of this and much more, we plan to have everything provided to members in a timely manner. We believe in creating a large service event, not just for us, but for the members. Our vision is
Anyone can contact me if there is anything you want to share with me, whether it is your thoughts, comments, or concerns for the upcoming LSSP. I am happy to lend a listening ear for anyone. If you don’t want to talk about LSSP but about Harry Potter, music, elbows...anything...I can definitely do that too. I can’t wait to see you all (yes, all) at LSSP in Nashville this summer of 2014! Peace, Love, and LSSP!
