How long have you been fly fishing and where did you learn to flyfish?

Benjamin Muller Steyn

Since I was a little boy, I watched on TV as guys fly fished and tied their own flies. So one day on my grandparents farm. I found a hook, some of my grandmother's thread and a few feathers in the chicken coup, and tied my own flies. Since then the bug bit me. My uncle then one day showed me on my parents lawn how to cast and it just escalated from there.

How did you come about the JFFC?

After many years of fishing the odd trout dam here and there, and fishing the vaal once, I decided to get back into the sport and fly fish a little bit more. The one day while driving in Centurion I spotted the Jacaranda magnet on Shane's Bakkie and here we are today.

What makes fly-fishing so Special?
