Briefly tell us about your most memorable catch.
My most memorable catch was the one that got away. I hooked a yellow against the reed banks on the Freestate side of Arendsnes. The fish just started darting towards the reeds and I needed to fight him out. After winning that battle the fish darted downstream and I had to ski down a set of rapids to follow him, whilst holding my shin guard in my mouth (since it got loose) I managed to beat him into some calmer water. Thinking he had submitted I reached down with my net, he suddenly got new energy and started to run hard downstream, unable to halt him he proceeded to cut me off on a rock. Stripped tippet in hand I stood there defeated and the realization hit me: a yellow will never give up, my explorer 3WT can hold up it's own in a tough battle, but never ever think the battle is won when the fish is a mere 10 centimeters away from your net.
What is your favorite gear brand and why?
My favourite gear brand is unbranded gear straight from Chinese wholesalers, since they are about 4 times cheaper and just as reliable.
What would you say is your favorite fishing Venue?
Arendsnes is my favourite venue since I caught my first yellow there and if you go when the flow is decent, the fish doesn't seem to stop biting.
