Step 6
Now it’ s time to decorate your cake!
Pro Tips: Chill your cake first so your piping and palette strokes glide on cleanly. Use medium consistency COPHA pure white frosting— too stiff won’ t spread nicely, too soft will slump.
Start with your piping bag and # 6B piping tip. Pipe your shell border at the base of the base tier. Make sure you angle the piping bag slightly away from the cake so you don’ t damage the cake surface.
Step 7 Continue on to the middle cake layer and pipe the shell border. Make sure you start in the same position as the base border.
Step 8 Lastly, pipe the shell border on the top of the cake, again making sure you start in the same position as the previous two borders.
Step 9 Next, we’ ll add in our textured elements. Using the textured palette knife, start applying your COPHA pure white frosting to the base tier in small amounts with gentle pressure. I like to apply this in groups of three. Slowly make your way around the cake, leaving enough space for your foliage vines to be piped.
