Championship Horse Show: James Duenow
The Champ show committee is requesting that a laptop computer be purchased for Champ show, to run Horse Show Tracker, instead of using the Duenow’ s personal computers. Computers researched have been found for $ 500 or less.
A motion was made by Lori Taylor, seconded by Julie Gintner, that the committee purchase a computer for Champ show and Horse Show tracker use for $ 500 or less. Motion carried unanimously. The committee has been working with Blake on secondary option to tents. There will be extra shower houses and bathrooms available. There will be no $ 20 non-electrical camping fee this year. The committee shared the draft of the Champ show Special Editon spotlight. A big thanks for all of Rachel’ s hard work on this special edition. There were a lot of updates reflecting the new location. Champ show entries will open August 8 th and close August 25 th. Late-entry classes will be done at Champ show, and exhibitors and horses must already be signed up by the August 25 th deadline. Stalling cost has increased this year due to additional show days. New for this year is that every stall includes 2 bags of shavings, with double stalls including 4. No outside shavings allowed, but additional shavings will be available for purchase. Simon’ s will be cleaning out the stalls during change over. The minimum amount of horses to purchase a tack stall is 4 horses for pleasure stalling and 8 for games. There will be a group stalling form. Double stalls will be available for Pleasure portion only. Horses are not allowed to be tied out to trailers. Priority move in passes are available to purchase for $ 75, on a first com first serve basis. Pleasure priority move in will be Tuesday from 9am to 3pm. Games priority move in will be Friday from 4pm to 8pm, will move in to stalls as they become available. The cost for Full-show electrical will be increased due to limited spaces. The committee asked for the boards feedback on cost of full-show electrical, as well as electrical / camping for board members and show committee. With no golf-carts allowed, it was discussed that placing board members and show committee closer to the barn would be beneficial. The board was in agreement that cost of full-show electrical should be increased and the board members are willing to pay for increase. Generators are allowed for non-electrical camping, and Simon’ s will provide contact info of contractor to come around and empty grey / water and septic. A full-site map will be made available.
Procedures: Sara Schwartz An updated judges procedure was presented for the Expedited Judge Evaluation for show committees.
A Motion was made by James Duenow, seconded by Karson Duncanson, to approve the Expedited Judge Evaluation form for show committees. Motion carried unanimously.
Lynn-Ellen pointed out that WSCA’ s Code of Conduct was added to the Judge’ s procedure, which is meant to be a stand-alone procedure.
A motion was made by Lori Taylor, seconded by James Duenow, to remove the Code of Conduct statement from the Judge’ s procedure, and make it a stand-alone procedure. Motion carried unanimously.
The Nominations procedure was presented, that corrected the discrepancies found between By-Laws and Procedure. It was noted that a few grammatical errors were found, and these have been made known to Sandy. It was made known that the statement in the procedure informing applicants of the deadline to be included in the Spotlight before the general meeting was meant to be included on the bottom of the application. The statement on the bottom of the application should read that applications submitted before September 1 st will be included in the spotlight, but nominations may still be accepted from the floor at the general meeting( matching the statement in the procedure).
A motion was made by James Duenow, seconded by Karson Duncanson, to approve the Nominations procedure, with the addition of the procedure statement to the bottom of the application. Motion carried unanimously.
