GIRLS
The 1st XI had a win ratio of 83 per cent , losing only twice and reaching the semi-final of the Kent Cup and the final of the Bradfield seven-a-side tournament ( for the second season in a row ). Pleasingly , the 2nd XI had significantly more games than in the past , and their fixture list is set to be fuller from now on .
In the Michaelmas term , Mr Younghusband drew on his playing experience at Chelsea ( under both José Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers ) to deliver training sessions that had students and staff alike buzzing . In the Lent term , Mr Worgan , who worked tirelessly on all aspects of football , added the fruits of his experience , working particularly with the goalkeepers and the defence . The girls played some brilliant football , culminating in a 6-0 victory over Wellington in the final game of the season .
Lower down the school , there were important developments . Football is now a strong games option within Years 9 and 10 , and the U12 and U13 played their first fixtures , surprising the opposition with the quality of their performances . Our collective resolve is to build on these developments next season .
At the end-of-season dinner , Camilla Eerdmans won MVP and Golden Boot , with 24 goals . Most Promising Newcomer was Sofia Brown , and the Captain ’ s and Vice-Captain ’ s prizes went to Maya Goodrich , Olivia Pigram and Sophie Gildemeister . Julia Metzler won the Goalkeeper ’ s Prize . Seven pupils also achieved colours .
Our thanks go to Mr Wallace , Miss McQuillin , Mr Savoye and Mr Norman for their ongoing support this year . We bid farewell to our Upper Sixth stalwarts : Tess Hunter , Ana Sofia de Norville Sanchez , Camilla Eerdmans , Dingding Ding , Ruvanthika Ganesh , Clara Morgue D ’ Algue and Olivia Pigram , yet we await with excitement the arrival of their replacements from Year 11 and the new intake .
