FOOTBALL
An outstanding season for boys and girls , with the promise of more to come .
BOYS
The football season was outstanding , both in terms of individual and team achievements , and the dedication and hard work of all the players and coaches involved must be commended . Having all students representing the school in fixtures demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and provides opportunities for everyone to participate and develop their skills . Achieving success across various age groups and teams shows a strong foundation and talent pool .
We had some fantastic performances from all Lower School students in the Michaelmas term . Implementing a new player development plan and seeing such a positive response from the players speaks volumes about the effectiveness of the programme and the dedication of both the players and coaching staff . The emphasis on fast-attacking , possession-based football not only showcases an exciting style of play , but also reflects a commitment to skill development and strategic play on the field . It is clear that the players have embraced this approach and are thriving under it .
As we moved into the Lent term , the main football term , congratulations went to the U15B team for their faultless season and league title – a remarkable achievement ! The 1st XI , U16B and U14B teams all finished as league runners-up , which speaks volumes about the overall competitiveness and skill level at Sevenoaks .
With 38 teams and 480 students involved , it is evident that football holds a significant place within the school . The programme is on a positive trajectory , with a focus on player development , teamwork , sportsmanship and a dynamic style of play . Here ’ s to continued success and growth !
