BASKETBALL
This season , the U12 and U13 boys and U12 girls participated in Basketball England ’ s prestigious Junior NBA . Competing as the Miami Heat , the U12 boys made it to the top eight , while the U13s made it to the finals . The U12 girls made it to the first round of the playoffs , representing the San Antonio Spurs . Sevenoaks School ’ s success in this league reflects the talent and dedication of even the youngest Sennockians .
Impressively , all U14 , U15 and U16 boys ’ teams reached the playoffs , thanks to their exemplary perseverance . They continued with great confidence , determination and focus until their ultimate defeat in the semi-finals . Their unrelenting effort and composure through every match , coupled with Coach Korentzelos ’ s coaching methods , helped the boys to third place in their respective leagues .
As captain of the U19 team , I am proud to have repeated last year ’ s success and made Sevenoaks history by winning the LISBA U19 league back-to-back . We kept a near-perfect record in league matches , with seven wins out of eight . Our unrelenting will , tireless practice and confidence in our abilities enabled our match-day , playoff and , ultimately , cup success . The girls ’ team also grew in number and skill as they retained a near-perfect record by winning two out of three matches , bolstered by increased opportunities and confidence .

Basketball has been a transformative experience for the entire Sevenoaks team and a personal journey for every player . Under Coach Korentzelos ’ s guidance , each player has learned the importance of resilience , endurance and determination , leading to team successes and personal growth .
Sevenoaks basketball is constantly improving and growing : our coach ’ s hard work and vision have generated a strong basketball programme with positive long-term prospects . I believe our basketball success represents Sevenoaks School ’ s key quality of resilience , enabled by the vision , tenacity and strength of each player . With the objective of cohesion and camaraderie , Coach Korentzelos and the players pooled our collective diligence and zeal to enable success at every level .
