Five-a-side Tournament In March , the school hosted the first OS futsal tournament since 2019 , and it was fiercely competitive .
Teams made up of OS from a whole range of ages , from the Class of 1999 to the present day , played each other in a round robin format . It was tight at the top of the table for most of the morning , with Alex Lenhart ’ s ( OS 2017 ) team finishing third , Saul Greenhalgh ’ s ( OS 2014 ) team finishing second and Guy Parfitt ’ s ( OS 2015 ) team crowned champions .
It was a particularly poignant day , as Andy McKay ( OS 1999 ) put together a team in honour of Alex Polyviou ( OS 2001 ), a former student and teammate who sadly passed away in September 2023 . The team wore Millwall shirts , Alex ’ s beloved football team , with his name on the back . Alex ’ s father , Paul , attended to present the Player of the Tournament trophy and he also said a few words along with Andy , who gave an emotional and heartfelt speech . Alex ’ s wife and young children were also there .
We were pleased to revive the tournament and the day was a great success . The plan is to repeat it next year and , hopefully , beyond .

Old Sennockians Football Club ( OSFC ) The OSFC have been competing in the Arthurian League since its inception in 2013 . This season , 34 players from the age of 19 upwards represented the team as we competed in Division Three .
In a very competitive league , the OSFC continued to have a great home record at Duke ’ s Meadow , winning five and drawing one of our nine league games at home . On the road , we were less consistent , with away days proving more difficult to get a result . We ended the season on positive goal difference with 34 goals scored and 33 goals conceded . In line with our great home win record , we scored 19 of these goals at home and conceded 14 , with this being flipped on its head away from home .
The OSFC finished the season in a solid fifth place , with 23 points , and we will look to kick on next season as our new players play more regularly together . Thank you to everyone who played this season .
