SQUASH
A fantastic year for the teams with Coach of the Year Zeb Young
Sevenoaks squash players have had an amazing year . We sent three teams to the England Squash schools ’ national finals in Birmingham . Two mixed teams came fourth and sixth overall , and the girls ’ team came second overall .
In addition to the successes in school , many players were selected to represent Kent . Gala and Carlota Hermer and Sam Ide made the U19 county team . Ciara Boulanger made the U15 Surrey team and Dehong Kong , Daniel Inwang , Daniel Otawaa , Tasia Nahornaya , Ethan Hu , Greg de Caux and Arnav George made the U13 Kent team . Additionally , Ciara Boulanger has travelled internationally , competing in several opens , including the U15 French championships , in which she took third place !
None of these successes would have been possible without the mentoring and support of our coach , Zeb Young . Zeb ’ s passion and dedication for the sport is not only admired and recognised by his own students , but also by England Squash , rewarding Zeb with Coach of the Year . Zeb coaches at numerous clubs , but always makes time for his Sevenoaks students and for that we could not be more grateful ! An additional thank you to Mr Emmitt , our Head of Squash , for organising everything – from all the friendly matches to the logistics of bringing three teams up to Birmingham for the nationals !
Squash at Sevenoaks has been the most incredible experience and I am sad that I will not be here next year to continue the journey with the squash family I have made . Through all of the victories and losses , the squash community here was always supportive . Squash at Sevenoaks played a major role in my Sixth Form experience , and I could not have been happier to have been part of the team .
