BOYS
Fixtures began in the Lent term with a successful run in the LTA Senior Students competition , with a third place finish at the regional finals in Sutton . A couple of weeks later it was an all-Sevenoaks final in the Senior Kent Doubles when we battled the elements as much as the opposition . The younger cohort travelled to Bromley for their Kent Doubles festival where the U13s finished as runners-up ( Vadim Uvarov and Daniel Booth ) and the U15s as winners ( Matthew McLain and Tommy Cuomo ). The U16 , U15 and U14 boys won the first round of the Independent Schools League but the timing of the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla meant there were no finals this year .
The 1st team boys played 15 , won 12 and lost 3 , represented by students from Year 9 upwards . In addition to our enjoyable weekly squads and additional training sessions , the 1st team competed in several high quality tournaments . The highlight was our run to the National Schools ’ Finals . In the regional qualifier we beat Eastbourne College away in a thriller – needing to win both doubles and doing so , winning both on a champions ’ tie-break . Our prize was a week at Nottingham University playing the best 16 schools from around the UK , which was a fantastic experience and a brilliant end to the year .
