TENNIS

As always , the tennis season welcomed many students of all ages competing in friendly fixtures , cup matches , doubles , singles and mixed tournaments . Training indoors throughout the Michaelmas and Lent terms , our teams hit the ground running at the beginning of the summer season .
GIRLS
The senior girls enjoyed a strong season , building a strong rapport with new doubles partners and winning most of their fixtures . One of the highlights this year was fending off stiff competition to claim victory in the Mixed Doubles Wellington Cup . Mixed doubles is always an exciting dynamic with the U18A girls and boys teaming up to play competitive and entertaining matches . Our commitment in training paid off , as we held our lead throughout the tournament , with the toughest matches and the best tennis being saved until the very end .
Lower down the school , the U13 girls kicked off the season in style at the Kent LTA doubles festival , with Ruby Marriage and Isa McLain the winners and Emily Hancock and Tasia Nahornaya the runners-up . Emily and Tasia were also proud winners of the National Schoolgirls ’ Doubles Championships .
The season finale was the Independent Schools Tennis Association Championships . Teams from all age groups spent three days at Eton College , culminating in the U13 girls ( Ruby Marriage and Emily Hancock ) bringing home the prestigious Ralph Cake trophy .
