third place overall . With two gold medals for Eva Okaro and two silver medals from Izzy Okaro , and plenty of top six placings , everyone helped add to the total .
The Weald and Downland Cup was held at Tonbridge School . With six schools in attendance for a boys ’ and girls ’ competition , we were looking forward to an afternoon of exciting racing . Races were held over 100m , 50m and relays as 4x50m . With new swimmers joining the girls ’ team in September , we look forward to an even stronger team next year .
The Tonbridge School Invitational Cup is held as a gender-blind gala , for any mixed schools who wish to swim their fastest student . The event had two age groups with six schools competing this year . It was a strong competition , with some boys swimming up an age group to help bolster the senior squad .
Our final competition this year was the Bath and Otter Cup . This is always exciting , with teams from all four corners of the United Kingdom . The girls ’ team , comprised of Izzy Okaro , Lara Turan , Peony Lee and Maddie Evans , won the Nelson Cup 4x50m front crawl relay . They also made the medley final , with Anjola Pratt replacing Peony Lee , and finished fourth . The boys ’ team swam well , finishing first reserve for the front crawl relay and 15th overall in the medley relay . This was a very successful trip and a rather large trophy returned to school with the swimmers .
Finally , Eva Okaro continues to impress on the national and international stage , competing for Team GB at the Euro Meet in Luxembourg with four entries and two personal best times , as well as the Ontario Junior International in December with four entries and two personal best times .
Well done to all the swimmers representing Sevenoaks School . What a fantastic year !
