where monks would sing monophonic chants in the 12th century ; every little whisper travelled across the whole structure using the amazing acoustics . We learned about the influential composer John Dunstable and his links to Henry V . During the tour we saw the shrine of Thomas Becket , as well as where the monks lived and where they would work . Our favourite room in the London Dungeons was the witches ’ room : we were led into an execution room with two cages at the front ; here we were told that we were thought to be witches – who would be beheaded at dawn ! In one of the cages was a witch who hadn ’ t moved since we entered , but as soon as the executioner left , she came alive and materialised in front of us in a matter of seconds ; the room was then filled with many more scary surprises .
Later we had a picnic by the London Eye and took in the breathtaking view . It was an exhilarating day , and we had a lot of fun . Thank you to Ms Taylor for all our IQ trips and for including such a fun one at the end of the year . Thank you also to Miss Cripps and Miss Dorrington for coming with us too and for being so brave !
