I was not realistic, and after waiting the extra five months to hear the results (all of my other schools notified me by December and January), I was met with disappointment. I had been rejected from two schools and waitlisted at one. I know that everybody has to deal with rejection, but the first denial was the hardest, and this is because I didn’t prepare myself properly, do my research early, and was not realistic.
Overall, the college admissions process was a huge learning experience, and in the end it turned out great, as I am excited to attend Trinity University in the fall. Even though this was something I would change if I had “another chance,” I truly do not regret it. Hard work does eventually pay off, and there will be times of both heartbreak and joy. In high school I have experienced both, but my four years are ending on a happy, exciting note.
