you may be wondering what exactly a sports physical is or what is the process when you go get one . Dr . Jenkins plainly summarized the whole gist of a sports physical or a pre-participation physical evaluation ( PPE ).
“ A sports physical is something that is required by the state of Kentucky to compete in school-sponsored sports . The main thing it does is check a person ’ s vital signs as well as their health history to make sure no issues may arrise while they are participating in a sport ,” he explained .
Most states do have a requirement for a sports physcial before releasing an athlete to play a sport , however , there are some states that don ’ t have that requirement . Despite that , doctors still recommend getting one if you are or plan on being active and participating in any kind of sport .
