It ’ s that time again folks . Time for another year of high school athletics here in the Commonwealth and in our own Lake Cumberland area .
However , before the young athletes can begin chasing their dreams on the field and on the court , they are required to take an all-important sports physical .
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine , around 30 million children and teens participate in some form of organized sports , with around 3.5 million injuries occurring throughout a given year . Sports physicals are administered by several physicians around our local area , with one of them being Dr . Patrick Jenkins . Jenkins is a certified sports medicine physician who is the team doctor for the Pulaski County High School varsity football team .
