out of town
Retail parks and some large malls are usually located out of town and are generally part of an all day shopping experience with big retail spaces and brand names, cafes and restaurants and leisure activities such as a cinema or bowling alley.
Large day to day stores such as supermarkets and DIY stores such as B&Q are also located out of town in retail parks as they need more shop floor space to store all of their products as they have more stock than most in-town stores and some of their products are also much larger.
These stores do not necessarily have a good demographic as they tend to be wherever there is space, however, they do have good footfall as they are located near other similar shops so people can travel to one place and get everything they need.
