Instructor Training Group lead Ginge Crook is full of optimism for the new season
IT DOESN ’ T SEEM SIX MONTHS SINCE MY last column , but here we are six months on , and as a team we ’ re in a better place . The increase in demand to attend Instructor Training Scheme ( ITS ) events in 2022 has been fantastic . To see so many of our members returning to the water and taking their diving to the next level is like a little ray of sunshine in my life !
Our instructors are the lifeblood of the organisation , be they branch members , or working through a BSAC Centre . Support is always available via the Instructor Training Group and of course via the website . If you haven ’ t done so recently , why not login to your MyBSAC and update your information so you receive all the updates and can keep in touch with what ’ s happening within your club .
You may have seen via social media or in this magazine how our partnership in Egypt is developing and bringing exciting opportunities for all our members . While Egypt has been in the limelight don ’ t forget about all of our other centres located globally , who can link in with your branch and support your training . With the ability to travel being a little easier , why not travel and explore a new location to complete some or all of the open water modules of a course ? Or even take a whole new course ?
2022 is shaping up to be great year to develop as divers . I can ’ t promise great weather , but I can promise that the opportunities available to you are there for the taking . Branches , centres and regional events have a huge range of activities on offer , so why not take the plunge and commit to that course or activity you have been promising yourself . Surely you deserve a bit of ‘ me time ’!
As I did in September , I must close by thanking all our instructors for your efforts and commitments to BSAC . I hope we all continue to enjoy a great year of diving , wherever that may be .
