Getting to know the Romanians
Romanians are usually very warm-hearted people. They are very hospitable and they love to make their guests feel welcomed in their house.
Whether we talk about giving directions or about treating you with a huge meal and many shots of Pălinca, Romanians would do anything to make you feel good and pampered.
Also, Romanians have a very strong sense of humor and a relaxed way of looking at life. They love to joke about anything, sometimes even in bad situations. They won’t mind if you make a joke, even if the joke is on them and often even they would make jokes on themselves.
However, there are some sensitive topics on which Romanians wouldn’t enjoy jokes. In the past years, Romanians were more and more wrongly associated with the Rroma population in different countries especially in Western Europe. However, the association is wrong, the Rroma population being a migrant population with their own traditions, language and culture, and they are a minority population in Romania too, just like in the other countries.
Because of this, the Romanians are sometimes discriminated, and they feel very offended by the comparison or by jokes made on this matter.
Another thing Romanians love is partying. They love going out for a drink with friends, going to clubs and also they love to throw parties very often, in any place.
