4. Moving inside the city

Public transport inside the city can be a good option as you can buy a set of tickets for the whole month; in some cities the student dorms are close to the city center and to the hospitals so they are not needed.

Taxis usually have taximeters and they are mostly affordable but you have to be careful not to be taken on the longest way to reach your destination. The best way is to ask your contact persons details about transportation in your LC .

3.Buses/cars

There are a lot of private bus companies that connect the cities in Romania and also Romanian cities with other European cities.

Timetables can be checked on the website of the coach stations in Romania (http://www.autogari.ro/). Car rentals are also an option; international drivers’ license is accepted and sometimes it can be the best option for more flexibility and moving around cities.

However, a car-ride may take longer than expected due to the fact that most of the roads cross villages and towns on their way and speed limits apply. Trains are usually more comfortable than buses, but bus connections can be more direct.
