Transport

1.Airports

The most important airport in Romania is the "Henri Coanda" International Airport in Otopeni, near Bucharest. Besides it, there are international airports in other cities such as: Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Timisoara, Targu-Mures, Brasov, Sibiu, Craiova.

There are daily flights connecting our international airports with other important European ones, and via them with main airports outside of Europe.

The internal flights as well as international ones are operated by the national airline company, TAROM (www.tarom.ro), but you can also find low-cost flights operated by Blueair, Wizzair etc.

All the important Romanian cities are connected by railway, and for the connections with Bucharest the timetables are pretty good. Connections between cities may sometimes include stops in different railway stations, which can sometimes mean long journeys, and it should be mentioned that trains can have important delays.

An important detail to be mentioned is the fact that international students don’t benefit from the same discounts as Romanian students

There are also international trains that reach Romania in different train stations like Oradea, Cluj-Napoca, Targu-Mures, Brasov, Bucharest and others.

Timetables as well as prices can be checked here: http://www.mersultrenurilor.ro/ or www.regiotrans.ro (a private train company)
