"The Drug Devil: Heroin" by National Geographic is about the effects heroin has on your body and about the people who are either addicts or dealers. One dealer is named John, lives in New York, deals in open spaces but places where he can give heroin and get money quickly. He's also an addict nd he only sells heroin to buy more for himself. A pregnant woman named Mary is a addict to herion and she couldn't stop even when she was pregnant. Mary was lucky because it didn't effect her baby and she's trying to stop but she can't and maybe won't anytime soon. Also a man named David who's is also a addict and so was his wife but she died of an overdose. David knows that his next dose can kill him but can't stop even after his wife's death. Heroin was first used as an over the counter cough medicine and pain killer but now its illegal and its sold as black tar. Herion goes straight to the brain and if you have an overdose it goes to the medulla oblongata, which controls functions like breath regulation, and it slows the respiratory system until you stop breathing and you die. People are either starting to get addicted or already are addicts everywhere you are and to save yourself from it don't hang around with those people and try to ignore it. So good luck' you'll need it!
