Fundraising at Scarisbrick Hall MacMillan Coffee Morning Reported by: Mrs Walmsley We once again held our annual Macmillan coffee morning and cake sale in the Great Hall and we had some fantastic cake donations which raised over £250 for the charity. Parents from the PFA kindly came in to help in selling the cakes and we then invited all the pupils to come along and purchase them. It was lovely to see so many parents joining us for coffee and with all their kind donations the event was yet again a great success. Overall we raised over £350 to go to Macmillan Cancer Support. Well done and thank you to all parents, grandparents and friends who came along to support the event! Harvest Festival Cash for Kids Reported by: Mr McCoy Reported by: Mrs Seddon On Friday 3rd October First School held their Harvest Assembly in the Chapel. An additional part of our ‘Make a Difference day’ has been a whole school initiative to support under privileged children in Lancashire.
Children were asked to bring in tins, packets or boxes of food that could then be used to help families less fortunate than ourselves. The children's response was amazing! The front of the stage was covered with a whole variety of produce that we were able to pass onto a local charity that supports homeless people and families in need. This year we once again worked with Green Pastures in Southport, a very worthwhile organisation who were extremely pleased to receive our generous support. Thank you to all the children and their families for the generous offerings for the Harvest Assembly. Scarisbrick Hall School has been working in conjunction with Rock FM, acting as a drop off point for gifts, which will then be collected and distributed to needy children.
Everyone has responded superbly and the volume of gifts we have been given, is a credit to the pupils and parents associated with our school. Thank you for your support!
Operation Christmas Child Reported by: Miss Sutcliffe We decided to support this charity again this year and wanted to try to break last year's total of 110 boxes! Most of the children in First School took part with some bringing in more than one box. The van arrived for collection on the 14th November when Year 3 were on hand to help load them into the van. We were delighted to find that there were 120 boxes. Well done everyone!
