Scarisbrick Hall vs Rossall School
Reported by: Mr Jones
The Scarisbrick Hall School U16s began their football season with a home tie against Rossall School. The
Scarisbrick team began the game on the front foot with Tosin Oyebola latching onto a loose ball to convert
past the Rossall Goalkeeper. Rossall replied almost instantly with the Rossall striker driving through the
heart of the Scarisbrick Hall defence to put the ball beyond Harry Baldwin in the Scarisbrick goal, Rossall
then began to take the upper hand in the game and punished Scarisbrick for being wasteful in front of goal
by quickly scoring two more goals to give the side a 3-1 lead at the half time whistle.
At the beginning of the second half Scarisbrick missed a penalty to potentially get the team back into the
game, however, a short time later Ross Turpin pulled a goal back to make it 3-2, the game then sprung into
life with Rossall scoring again before James Bullock pulled one back for the Under 16s; as Scarisbrick Hall
committed men forward in search of an equaliser Rossall sprang forward on the counter attack and
finished the game off with another goal, the game finished 5-3 to Rossall. A valuable lesson learnt for the
Scarisbrick Hall team who will rue the number of chances they missed in front of goal and will have to be
much more clinical if they are to be successful.
Scarisbrick Hall vs Oldham

U15s hosted an ISA Cup game at home to Oldham
School. This was a closely contested tie with both
teams proving to be solid at the back for the opening
exchanges of the game with very little chances created
by either side. Fortunately the first meaningful chance
of the game fell to Scarisbrick Hall with Tosin Oyebola
slotting from close range after patient build up play on
the edge of the Oldham box. From then on it was one
way traffic with Scarisbrick Hall dominating for large
periods of the half, and that pressure would eventually
tell when a hopeful long ball was latched onto by Raj
Uppal to race clear and put the ball beyond the on
rushing goalkeeper, giving Scarisbrick Hall a 2-0 lead
going into Half Time.
After the break a re-energised Oldham came flying out
of the blocks with them pulling back an early goal to
make it 2-1; as the half went on the Scar
