Scarisbrick Hall
vs Ashbridge Primary School
Reported by: Jade Headley
On Wednesday 12th November our U11 football
played at home against Ashbridge School from Preston.
What looked like a fine weather afternoon for a football match dramatically
changed when the black clouds appeared and torrential down pours began
towards the end of the first half and continued into the second half. Although
the conditions were against us with muddy puddles on both goal lines and the rain making it visibly hard
to see your own players on the pitch, both teams battled really hard and didn't let the condition fade them
at all. Scarisbrick Hall won the match 4-2 and the boys were delighted with the result.

Its been a great term for U11 football and the team have been working
really well together. We had a great match against Ashbridge in
particular where we won 4-2. This was a fantastic result against a
really good team in terrible weather conditions! Oliver Bradshaw
managed to score twice with Joe Finnegan and Cody Whiley scoring
the remaining two goals.
All the team have been putting lots of effort into training every
Thursday after school and during the e3 session on Wednesday.
The boys are looking forward to the National tournament next term on
Grimsby.
Scarisbrick Hall vs Redcourt St Anselm’s
Reported by: Mr Jones
Scarisbrick Hall School U11s represented the school in an Umbro Cup match away at Redcourt in the
Wirral, the game began at a slow pace with both sides giving the ball away cheaply.
Eventually the Redcourt side took a strong hold on the game by scoring two goals in quick succession;
Redcourt showed very good organisation and played some excellent football, this told throughout the
game when Scarisbrick surrendered possession on several occasions to let Redcourt fly into a 4-0 lead
before the break. Following on from the first half Redcourt showed a killer instinct in front of goal quickly
scoring another two goals to make it 6-0, Scarisbrick pulled a goal back late on, something which their
effort more than deserved as their attitudes throughout a difficult tie was fantastic and represented the
school in a brilliant manner, a special mention goes to Oliver Bradshaw who never stopped running
throughout and set a brilliant example to the rest of his team.
We would also like to thank Redcourt for their hospitality, inviting the team in to their clubhouse for
refreshments before the team headed back home.
