Throughout the previous term, all the middle school sports leaders have come together to
organise and run the First School Inter House Multi skills Competition. There was a number of
different activities, with different sports leaders at each station.
The sports leaders involved in
this event were;
Amelia Collict (Year 8)
Molly O’Donoghue (Year 8)
Rahul Uppal (Year6)
Scarlett McDonnell (Year 5)
Savanah Taylor (Year 5)
Charlotte Winstanley (Year 5)
Peter Sanders (Year 7)
Brad Hickman (Year 7)
Aidan Doyle (Year 8)
Harrison Brookfield - Graham
(year 8)
Eliot Stone (Year 8)
Will Bell (Year 8)
Ryan Halliwell (Year 8)
Aidan Doyle said, “This was the first time the sports leaders had
organised an Inter House event for the First school and it was a huge
success. The event lasted all day and was enjoyable for all of them. The
first activity was standing long jump witch was held by Amelia, then
there was the obstacle course held by Harrison, there was also the
distance throwing witch was held by Molly as well, then we had the
target throwing held by Aidan, there was bunny hops as well and held by
Charlotte and we also had step ups held by Scarlett it was a great day
Charlotte Winstanley & Amelia Collict also said, “I thought Lewis (year
4) was being brave because he kept banging his knees but he carried on. I
thought Wyburn was the best team because they cheered each other on,
not all of the teams did. I was in charge of distance jumping. All students
were well behaved and had fun throughout all stations. Oxley performed
exceptionally well and I look forward to other events sports leaders will
organise in the future.”
In Year 4 Wyburn were the overall winners. Year 3 saw Poulton take the title. Year 2 was also won by
Poulton, and Reception was won by Raynor house. It was nice to see the First School children getting
so involved with the Inter House competitions.
Year 3 & 4 EFC Football
Tournament
Reported by: Jade Headley
On Tuesday 11th November our
Year 3 & 4 football teams travelled
to Stanley High School to
compete in the Everton FC
Football Tournament.
The players in the team were very
excited to take part in their first
match together as a team and had
eagerly awaited the day!
We played against large schools
such as Churchtown Primary, Farnborough
Road, Our Lady of Lourdes and Crossens
Primary School. We drew our match against
Crossens and lost the other two matches (but
only by 1 goal against Our Lady of Lourdes!).
The team worked hard in all of their matches
against some strong opposing teams, their
team spirit remained high throughout the
competition and we were very pleased with the
football skills and determination they showed
on the day! Well done to all players!

new moves” Ellie Leigh says, “I am looking forward to
competing in the ISA competition.”
The group have been focusing on floor and vault
apparatus, developing rolls, cartwheels and different
balances.
Some of the pupils have been chosen for the ISA
gymnastics team
and will compete in
Milton Keynes in
February, this is the
second year we will
have entered this
competition.
