I thought Wyburn was the best team because they cheered each other on, not all of the teams did. I was in charge of distance jumping. All students were well behaved and had fun throughout all stations. Oxley performed exceptionally well and I look forward to other events sports leaders will organise in the future.” In Year 4 Wyburn were the overall winners. Year 3 saw Poulton take the title. Year 2 was also won by Poulton, and Reception was won by Raynor house. It was nice to see the First School children getting so involved with the Inter House competitions. Year 3 & 4 EFC Football Tournament Reported by: Jade Headley On Tuesday 11th November our Year 3 & 4 football teams travelled to Stanley High School to compete in the Everton FC Football Tournament. The players in the team were very excited to take part in their first match together as a team and had eagerly awaited the day! We played against large schools such as Churchtown Primary, Farnborough Road, Our Lady of Lourdes and Crossens Primary School. We drew our match against Crossens and lost the other two matches (but only by 1 goal against Our Lady of Lourdes!). The team worked hard in all of their matches against some strong opposing teams, their team spirit remained high throughout the competition and we were very pleased with the football skills and determination they showed on the day! Well done to all players! After School Gymnastics Reported by: Miss Markey Since the beginning of term the PE department have been running an after school gymnastics club for both first and middle school. The club has been extremely popular and is currently over subscribed with children from Reception through to Year 7 attending. Some of the pupils have been chosen for the ISA gymnastics team and will compete in Milton Keynes in February, this is the second year we will have entered this competition.
