Sixth Form Open Evening

As one of the leading independent schools in the North-West, Scarisbrick Hall is delighted to be
launching a Sixth Form from September 2015. To celebrate this exciting development College students
and parents were invited to the first of many Open Events on Tuesday 11th November. The event itself
was a real success and thanks to the commitment and dedication from all staff involved a real positive
atmosphere was created for an informative evening. After an introduction from Mr Shaw in the Great
Hall, Mr Davidson presented his vision for what makes Scarisbrick Hall Sixth Form ‘more than a college’
and described a wide range of exciting enrichment opportunities that will be available to students to
ultimately create the perfect environment to learn. Visitors were then able to find out about the wide
range of opportunities we offer, talk to subject teachers about the range of A-Level courses available and
get a first glimpse of the brand new designs for the Sixth Form area currently being constructed.
Scarisbrick Hall Sixth Form will provide a unique and prestigious true ‘Pre-University’ experience for all of
our students who attend. We aim to provide students with skills and
opportunities to succeed not only through the course of their A-level
studies but also for University and beyond. Our Sixth Form offers
students two years of rich intellectual stimulus in the classroom, a
wealth of experience and opportunity outside it, and an ideal
preparation for life beyond. With a lecture series from leading
academics and specialist societies including Dentistry, Medical and
Veterinary as well as Engineering, studying in the Sixth Form will open
up opportunities and experiences that shape the lives of our students.

During the Open Evening, we were also delighted to announce our
inaugural Great Hall Lecture Series commencing this January with a
series of lectures from world-class academics representing some of the
top universities in the country. Our visiting speakers look to inspire
students and provoke intellectual curiosity. The topics under scrutiny
will be appropriately diverse to appeal to every student and will include
an eclectic range of subjects.
