KOHTA NOZANE
GRT Yamaha WorldSBK tTeam
The 2020 Japanese Superbike champion arrived with a factory supported WorldSBK bike in 2021 , with a big question mark over how he would go . We knew he had lots of experience in different classes , including in the MotoGP™ paddock , but WorldSBK is an entirely different thing , is many ways . Without having any particularly individual ‘ Hollywood ’ results to examine , Nozane currently finds himself third best rookie , in a field of nine 2021 debutants … A surprise to many , maybe , and he is just a few points ahead of his fellow inductees . But , look at the points table - it is he not they who is third in the rookie rankings .
You cannot miss him in among the rest of the blue wave of Yamaha riders , as his riding style can only be described as extreme . If he was hanging any further off his bike he would be riding someone else ’ s . Almost always in the more modest points scoring positions , who knows what Nozane is capable of in the final race of the year , in a return to Asia ? And at a circuit that will be completely new to absolutely everyone . Will this weekend be best chance to shine as bright as a tropical sun ? Probably , as he goes to improve on his best result to date of ninth , which he took at the first round in Spain .
EXCITING CONTENT
The rookie WorldSBK season for Isaac cannot help but be considered alongside the deep human tragedy of losing his young cousin Dean Berta Vinales in a WorldSSP Race at Jerez in late September . His resilience and professionalism since then make him a world champion human being in several regards already . He collected himself enough to have his best season result of tenth at the very next round after his family ’ s unimaginable loss . He has scored championship points in no fewer than 13 races now , on a true privateer Kawasaki .
