trainees is still being finalised and August is the target
month for the first training in Gauteng. Promotional and
awareness workshops will be conducted around the
provinces to reach out to as many technicians as the
database currently has 400 technicians. He

targeted for the training.
2.4 Update on Refrigeration tariff classification (HFCs
and ODS blends)
• Mr Maweni reported that SARS has gazetted the
amended tariff headings in January 2019 and a link with
amended tariffs have already been circulated to all
stakeholders.
• Chairperson appreciated the tariff classification task
team for a job well done. He further encouraged
industry to take lead on this kind of activities in the
future.
