2 Discussion points
2.1 Update on Mobile Reclamation Machine Project
2.1.1 DEFF Report
• Mr Maweni reported that site visits were conducted at
Afrox and Refrimate. UNIDO managed to install the
reclamation machines and conducted the training at
the hosting facilities. He further mentioned that
currently the machines are not in operation as there
were challenges encountered with some components
of the reclamation machines. Other components were
still with Acon in Durban. He further mentioned that the
challenge is being addressed, and will be resolved as
soon as possible for the machines to start operating.

2.2 Update on Kigali Amendment Ratification
• Ms Gwayi reported that the ratification process has
progressed. Parliament has recommended and the
President has signed the ratification. It has been sent
to DIRCO and will be deposited at the United Nations
offices, New York as the last step for ratification.
2.3 Progress on training of RAC technicians
• Mr Maweni reported that the project steering committee
for the training composed of DEFF, UNIDO, ACRA,
QCTO and SARRACA have been able to make
progress in preparation for training of RAC informal
servicing technicians. He mentioned that site visit has
been undertaken at ACRA, Kempton Park to check the
suitability of the facility to conduct the training.
