T he best known works of the Huicholes are the "worsted paintings" that are unique and complex creations because they are made by pressing multiple strands of yarn into a ceremonial board called Nearika, that is cove- red by a sticky wax. The works of art of the Hui- chol people are exposed and sold as if they were made in a group. They are not recognized as Mexi- can artists because of their indige- nous status, within the absurd racism that never disappears. Artwork by Eligio Carrillos Obra de Guadalupe RĂos G.
