Nero began as a fairly exceptional leader. He did everything from reducing taxes to giving aid to the Jewish. Previously, during Claudius’ rule, they were expelled from the land. Nero allowed them back when he took the role. However, as his reign continued, there was a decline. The time period had been a critical part of Roman history where the Jews of Judea and imperial Rome had yet to come to terms. It was towards the end of his reign when the infamous Jewish Roman Wars ensued. In the beginning of his rule, Nero seen as a supporter of the Jews. When a dispute came about between the priesthood and Agrippa over a wall erected so that the temple could not be seen, Nero ruled in favor of the Jews. In a later dispute between the Jews and Syrians, Nero actually ruled against the Jews. in a series of events, the Jews decided to revolt but were quickly oppressed as Nero sent a large army to curb their thoughts.
