Police not communicating what they are doing around schools . Center & Artbrook , JMI , getting across center is a nightmare . Bond elections / transportation funding – interpretation of bond language is that funding can ’ t be used for sidewalks and roads . Transportation funding needs to be more flexible and have safety prioritized . Not just infrastructure .
Training for cyclists – how to ride safely , rules , equipment
Make sure to get leadership involved Hike & Bike System Master Plan . Road diets in the hike & bike plan for example never happened . Council didn ’ t take that leadership position . Don ’ t cave to the minority of the community Sam Houston High School – students walk to school , tardiness , where they should walk . Student was killed walking . Use of VIA – not familiar with driving , needs to do better with outreach to Spanish and Vietnamese communities .
