SABESA ALUMNI Sept. 2014 | Page 22

22 I was not talented enough to play “professionally” with the SABECO football team, but I was good enough to play for the U6S football team. Today, every weekend, I play football to keep fit and to stay sane for the gruelling week of school. 6. What hurdles, if any, did you overcome along the way, and how? There are hurdles everywhere in life; even in “bush” (abroad). My focus and determination walk me over the hurdles. I keep my eyes on the prize all the time. 7.What advice do you have for students who aspire to pursue your career/academic path, and for current St. Bede’s College students overall? Sincerely stay focused, be determined, and also be true to yourself. In medicine, you cannot fake it, and you are therefore held in high standards to make the pain go away. For the rest of the SABECO students, stay creative and carefully make career choices that will greatly benefit society as well as be self-satisfying.
