2.What did you like the most about St.
Bede’s when you attended?
1. Please tell us a little bit about
yourself and when you attended St.
Bede’s College?
Hi there, my name is Mbeinta Lambert Chia,
I am a son of the Kom soil precisely from
Baingo village. I belong to a family of four
(two boys and two girls) with me being the
Benjamin. I attended most of my primary
education in ABPS Douala before joining
SABECO in 1997 where I spent seven
years and graduated with an A Level
certificate in 2004.
Like many others who attended this
prestigious school, I owe a crucial stage of
my upbringing to this great institution. I
remain forever grateful to my grand dad Pa
Andreas Chiafuke for ensuring I got
admitted, to my teachers for their devotion
in their work, to my friends at school for all
we shared, to my dad, mum, brother and
sisters for their continuous love and support
and most importantly to God Almighty who
saw me through.
Honestly back then, I couldn’t clearly say
what I liked about the school when
compared to other schools that had some
degree of liberty, just like many of you
presently studying in SABECO.
Sometimes you feel the school is not as nice
as people see it, I remember telling friends
in form one and form two that I wasn’t
going to return, but I was there for seven
years. You only SEE it clearly when you are
chanced to attend a school that is different
or when
you leave school and move to the next
stage in life. It is clear now that to have
attended one of the best schools in the
country in every aspect (sports, academics,
Eucharistic celebrations, study
environment, food quality and discipline),
succeeding from one class to another in this
school and having friends with whom I
shared my entire day for several years were
what made the school special for me.
Some teachers added spice to the daily life
with the then Discipline Master Mr. Chiia
being at the top. When you greet him, in a
