solar control, visual filtering, and scale modulation. By introducing a fine vertical rhythm, the slats break down the building’ s perceived mass, adding depth and texture to the façade.
The slatted screens are integrated into the architecture rather than applied as decoration. They follow the building’ s geometry, wrapping curved surfaces and aligning precisely with angular edges. As daylight shifts, the screens create changing patterns of light and shadow, giving the façade a dynamic, time-responsive quality. This layered approach makes the building appear permeable and nuanced rather than monolithic.
Entrance, canopy, and threshold
The main entrance is emphasised by a bold cantilevered canopy, expressed through exposed steel elements that reinforce the building ' s industrial character. The canopy establishes a strong horizontal datum and clearly defines the point of arrival. It acts as an architectural threshold, mediating between the external yard and the internal office environment while providing shelter and legibility for visitors and staff.
This entrance sequence is carefully layered, combining structure, glazing, slatted screens, and a curved corner element to create a rich architectural moment. The emphasis on the threshold elevates the everyday experience of arrival, transforming a utilitarian access point into a clearly articulated architectural gesture.
The office block is characterised by the interplay of curved surfaces and sharp angular cuts. A prominent curved feature anchors the building ' s corner, softening the scale of the development and introducing a sense of movement along the street edge. This curved form serves as a visual marker, signalling arrival, reinforcing corporate identity, and mediating between the large industrial mass and the pedestrian experience.
In contrast, bold, angular planes define corners, edges, and overhangs. These angular moves introduce tension and directionality, reinforcing the building’ s contemporary character. Chamfered edges, folded roof lines, and sharp transitions articulate key moments within the façade, creating a dynamic reading as one moves around the site. The deliberate contrast between curve and edge establishes a layered architectural language that avoids monotony.
Façade strategy and slatted elements
A defining architectural feature of the project is the vertical slatted façade screens along the office elevations. These slatted elements serve multiple functions, including

Materiality and architectural expression
Materiality across the project is deliberately restrained, allowing form and shadow to drive architectural expression. The warehouse relies on robust industrial materials chosen for longevity and performance, reinforcing its utilitarian role. The office component introduces a more refined palette through controlled glazing, darker-toned cladding, and precise detailing, while maintaining overall cohesion with the warehouse.
A strong red feature element is integrated into the architectural composition, anchoring the office block visually and reinforcing brand identity. This colour is used sparingly and strategically, ensuring immediate recognition without overwhelming the building’ s disciplined architectural language.
Interior architecture and spatial continuity
Internally, the architecture is complemented by Plae Interiors ' interior design, which aligns closely with the external expression. Office spaces are organised to maximise daylight penetration and spatial clarity, reinforcing a sense of openness and functionality. Visual connections are carefully managed to support operational awareness while maintaining appropriate acoustic and environmental comfort.
