We are only spectators of their works. Now, talking about fanfics, we found so- me problems too: spelling, grammar, wri- ting, coherence, narrative, to mention just a few. It is a literary writing (very specific in this type of contributions) where authors can write as they like. It is not ne- cessary to have rules, but it is appreciated to do it in the best possible way. Our point is that people should not force or impose grammar or a type of writing to an author. If it is well written for the author, then the reader should leave it as is. Of course, it is more pleasant to read something that fo- llows the rules, however we insist: Fanfics are made by fans for fans, many of them are written as a hobby or because the author simply likes it. We are unable to know wich writters received some kind of instruction when they started in this world, and then we can find several sto- ries with misspellings, incomprehensible or meaningless. What can we do in situations like this? Help, advise, motivate and help them to do it better, so they can continue doing what they like. After all, we are he- re to support each other. Another way is to stop reading without becoming disres- pectful. PLEASE! 7 You've probably found this type of comments: "When will you update again?", "Why is the chapter so short?", "Why do you take so long?", "Update more often!", "Could you update now?". Even threatening the authors. Of course we like to have material of what we love! And the fas- ter the better, right? But unfortunately, reality is different. Most of the people we love and ad- mire have lives outside the fandom and the in- ternet. They have jobs, they have studies, they have personal problems, so they do not have all the time in the world to dedicate it to their hobby because, you know, none of us receives money for sharing images or writing fics, other- wise life would be wonderful for some people. Sometimes we don't have the opportunity to get to know the authors we like, we know nothing about their private lives, what country do they come from or what do they do most of the time, that's why we can not go around making de- mand. If they have the habit of updating and so- metimes it’s difficult for them to update often, there must be a reason for it. We must be pa- tient and understanding instead of demanding and even threatening. Hey, one thing is to kindly ask them to keep going and another very different are the hard demands. The same hap- pens with short chapters; okay, it's short, but at least we have it. That person struggled to write a chapter and even if it is short, it is probably wonderful, and surely they did it trying to keep their updating habit to not let down their follo- wers, so the best thing for us to say: thank you.
