Trentham Trentham RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB T rentham RUFC was first established in 1948 and they are based on New Inn Lane in Staffordshire. They are led by the team of President Michael Bezus and Chair Michael Procter and the club is looking to progress under their guidance. Competing in the Cheshire (South) League they have made a steady if unspectacular start to the season, putting together a record of three wins, a draw and six defeats from their ten matches. This sees them sitting in the bottom half of the table with nineteen points on the board. Although they would probably have liked to make a better start to the campaign there have been plenty of positives to take from their performances. So long as they can build on these they should be in with a good chance of pushing on up the league. Trentham is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however and this is reflected by the fact that they also have a number of youth sides in place. These teams look to provide young players from the local area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential. It is important for any club looking to be successful over a sustained period of time to be able to produce their own talent, particularly in the current financial climate and this is an area that they appear to have covered. It will certainly be exciting to see how their youngsters can progress over the coming years. The club is also able to boast some high quality facilities with two full sized rugby pitches as well as a mini/junior pitch that doubles as a training area. The clubhouse overlooks the first team pitch and is open seven days a week and has the potential to provide them with a valuable source of additional revenue. It is available to hire for various events such as Birthdays and Parties. The club is renowned for its hospitality and prides itself on providing all visitors with a warm welcome. There is much to admire about the fine set up that Trentham currently has in place and the hard work that their Committee puts into making them a success should stand them in good stead for the future. Everyone at Rugby Club Magazine would like to take this opportunity to wish them the best of luck for the future.
