We are inclusive, offering players of all ages, gender and ability the opportunity to participate in competitive rugby. As a club we are working closely with the local schools, colleges and university to develop and raise the profile of rugby in the local area. “I believe all rugby clubs are going to have some really tough challenges in the near future. Many clubs in Hampshire are struggling to run the sides they used to. One of our biggest challenges is pla yer retention and recruitment. This is particularly difficult in our area as there are so many clubs of a similar standard all chasing the same players. As with most clubs, we do not have enough volunteers helping with the running of the club. Too few doing too much! Where is the younger generation? And of course finances are always a worry. “Over the next 5 years we would like to maintain the same number of senior players/teams, continue to strengthen our links with the community, gain at least one promotion for our 1st XV, develop our clubhouse to incorporate a purpose built gymnasium and extra toilets/storage area and build and fund a 3-G pitch.”
