Coffee Connect at Food Pantry- November 9, 2016
Thank you to all who attended the Food Pantry Coffee Connect. This was a great opportunity to see the new updates to the pantry. Theresa Caldwell, Food Pantry Director, took volunteers on a tour of the pantry. She also shared the current need for volunteers at this station: Holiday Train, Holiday Box sign up and Holiday Box distribution. Several of the volunteers present at the Coffee Connect decided to join this station for the special events.
Since our Coffee Connect the Food Pantry has added a new volunteer opportunity for the summer, Summer Youth Lunch Program. This program will be preparing cold“ grab and go” lunches for youth, infant to 18 years old. Volunteers are needed starting the second week in June for 10 weeks. Volunteers will serve from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm this includes time for setting up and taking down the lunch area. Volunteers may serve 1 day per week or several days per week. The program will run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Volunteers will organize the cold lunches, oversee the lunch distribution, and clean up the day’ s lunch supplies. For more information contact RSVP office at 563-589-2622.
