The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

I'm guilty. I watched the movie prior to reading the book. I loved the film, but right now I am getting ready to start reading this book.

-Read this if you are looking for an adventure. Wild danger, battling a dragon, close friends and learning to find true courage make this novel a worthy read!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

A close friend of mine introduced me to the famous Mr. Darcy. (I'm thinking Matthew Macfadyen.) I read this novel for the first time this year! This is one of the best and most classy romance novels ever to be penned.

-Read this is if you are in love with the idea of romance. If you seek a handsome gentlemen that has a bit of a haughty side to him, then read this. But most of all read this if happily-ever-after is what you love most.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

This is one of my favorite novels of the year! I cried, laughed and my heart was warmed by time I finished this novel.

-Read this if you want a story of what life is like for a cancer patient who has lived her entire life around the disease, only to fall in love for the very first time. (Make sure to keep a box of tissues close.)

Coco Chanel: The Legend and the Life by Justine Picardie

Most of us have heard of the fashion label Chanel. I love the designs, but what I enjoy most is the story behind the label of the founder and designer Coco Chanel.

-Read this if you are looking for a nonfiction read. This novel tells the story of an orphaned girl who became a fashion icon. This is a story of heartbreak, triumph, love and even death.
