Figure 2: Joining in a New colour
(a) In the last (WS) row before the colour
change, work to approximately 8-10
stitches before the end of the row. (b) Place the new colour of the working
yarn of the old colour. (c) Holding the tail of the new colour
securely against the fabric, purl the
next stitch in the old colour.
(d) Place the tip of the right-hand needle
into the next stitch, ready to purl, and
then hold the new colour up and over
the needle. (e) Wrap the old colour around the
needle and complete the purl stitch as
normal. (f) The new colour will be caught into
the back of the work as the new stitch
is formed.
(g) Weave the new colour into every
stitch until the end of the row.
